ウィルソンビル市長 ショーン・オニール氏からのウェルカムディナーでのメッセージです。
Tonight we welcomed students and chaperones from our Sister City of Kitakata, Japan at McMenamins Old Church. It was an honor to join Council President Caroline Berry, Oregon State Senator Courtney Neron Misslin, our Sister City Board, and my family for this special evening.
I shared a message that reflects the heart of this exchange:
“As Japanese Emperor Naruhito has reminded us, the world grows more peaceful when we deepen our understanding of one another.
This exchange is part of that hope—young people from two cities learning from each other and building friendships that strengthen our shared future.
To our host families: thank you for opening your homes and your hearts. In Wilsonville, we believe belonging begins with a simple act of welcome, and tonight you brought that belief to life.
These visits enrich both of our communities, and I’m grateful for everyone who helps keep this connection so strong. Welcome, Kitakata friends.
